Jimi Hendrix: American Landing

Music Documentaries / 1 x 55' / Airline, Non-Theatric

Experience Hendrix

Directed by Bob Smeaton (Beatles Anthology and Festival Express) and produced by Janie Hendrix and John McDermott, this documentary celebrates the 40th anniversary of Hendrix’s legendary Monterey performance and triumphant return to the United States after achieving stardom throughout Europe.

The film traces the remarkable year that saw Hendrix rise from virtual obscurity in New York’s Greenwich Viilage in 1966 to his enormous success first in England then throughout Europe, powered by such unforgettable songs as ‘Hey Joe’ and ‘Purple Haze’ and the groundbreaking debut album ‘Are You Experienced’.
