Leading director Klaus-Michael Grüber has created an elegant and spacious staging that does full justice to the maestro’s inspired reading of the score. Vesselina Kasarova and Dietrich Henschel are outstanding in the central roles of Penelope and Ulysses in Monteverdi’s epic tale of love and steadfastness.
