DCD Rights Sells UKTV factual series to Europe and Australia & unveils NATPE line up

Ahead of NATPE 2014, DCD Rights announces sales of its latest UKTV home renovation shows, and unveils fresh drama and factual acquisitions for the Miami market

My Dream Derelict Home (15×60’) was acquired by SBS in Norway and Foxtel in Australia. Hosted by property renovator Simon O’Brien the show produced by True North Productions follows ordinary people facing the challenge of turning wrecks into inspirational homes.

Nick Knowles’ Original Features (30×60’) was licensed to SBS in Norway, 7 Network in Australia, and Choice TV in New Zealand. From BBC Productions, the home renovation series fronted Nick Knowles (DIY SOS, Who Dares Wins) follows a property’s transformation back to its former glory.

New programming to be launched at NATPE includes the anticipated follow up to award winning Australian drama series A Moody Christmas (6×30’). Now titled as The Moodys the new 8×30’ series produced by Jungleboys in association with ABC TV & Screen NSW follows the dysfunctional Moody family as they gather for family events over a single year.

In factual, DCD Rights brings Liberty of London (3×60’), which goes behind the scenes at the iconic department store Liberty in the run up to the Christmas shopping season. The series produced by Rize USA for Channel 4 was pre sold to Foxtel in Australia and NRK for Norway back in December.

From music themed American network Fuse, Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce (16×30’), an unscripted series that explores the world of the New Orleans underground hip hop scene known as “Bounce,” follows Big Freedia on her journey from local icon to national phenomenon. Viewers will join Big Freedia as she preps for her first international tour, works through her mother’s illness and navigates the extremely competitive world of hip hop.

Santana Corazón, Live From Mexico (1×90’, RCA Records) tops the live music line up. Filmed in Santana’s homeland, Mexico in December, this momentous musical celebration features a star-studded cast of musicians on stage. This concert includes documentary footage celebrating the beauty of Santana’s birthplace, his musical heritage and influences.

Another concert highlight is Jessie J Alive at O2 (1×60’ / 1×90’, Universal Republic Records) an inspiring and incredible arena performance packed with international hits from both her multi platinum albums ‘Who You Are’ and ‘Alive’.

Finally The Exit Festival 2013 (1×90’, US3 Productions) highlights 5 days of the giant annual summer music festival held in an 18th-century fortress by the Danube in Central Europe now attracting up to 250,000 visitors and includes the best performances from the likes of Chic & Nile Rodgers, Block Party, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Fatboy Slim, Snoop Dog and David Guetta.
