A Moody Christmas is a narrative comedy series focused on the lovable, yet seasonally dysfunctional Moody family. With each episode set around Christmas Day, we visit the Moody household once a year at Christmas time as they come together to share this festive season. But while most families bask in the warm glow of Christmas spirit, the Moodys seemingly disintegrate, cracking under the pressure of forced civility and their unique brand of domestic politics.
The show is seen primarily through the eyes of youngest son, Daniel, who lives in London and with whom we journey home each year. Despite having moved halfway across the globe to get away from them, Dan does actually love his family dearly.
A Moody Christmas is stuffed to the brim of all the excitement Christmas brings, as well as the bad bits – bickering, inappropriate gifts, boring uncles, overbearing in-laws, shocking family secrets and bizarre eccentricities. You see, while in theory Christmas is a time for family to share and celebrate, in reality it’s often a time spent with relatives you have nothing in common with, siblings who take pleasure in taunting and irritating, and parents who, no matter how hard you try, are never satisfied.
