A Moving Floor Entertainment Production for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Major production investment from Screen Australia, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation & Screen Queensland
Detective Ethan Tobane is a rising star in the Queensland Police Service. Ethan joined the force to follow in the footsteps of his father, Terry, who was widely admired for his integrity during Queensland’s corruption-riddled 1980s. To Ethan, his father wasn’t just a good cop — he was the gold standard.
Ethan is assigned to a cold case: human remains have been discovered in the concrete foundations of a recently demolished government building constructed in those politically corrupt 1980s. After decades locked in cold concrete, the victims’ remains are mummified and unrecognisable… but their causes of death were clearly murder.
While investigating the case, Ethan makes a shocking discovery: his detective father may not have been as perfect as Ethan and others believed. Worse, this discovery seems to be directly linked to the recently unearthed bodies in the concrete. Everything Ethan thought true about his family and himself is suddenly and shockingly plunged into doubt.
Ethan meets Heather Briggs, a street-smart ex-con whose sister disappeared in the 1980s. Together, Ethan and Heather begin to unravel a chilling conspiracy tied to powerful property magnate James Demming whose company constructed the now demolished building.
As the stakes rise, Ethan’s and Heather’s lives fall under threat. How far will Ethan go to find the truth?
