Bill Bailey’s Korea Adventure
Factual Documentaries / Perpetual Entertainment & Glassbox Productions for Channel 4 / HD, Airline, DVD, Non-Theatric
6 x 60'
Comedian Bill Bailey is taking his uniquely inquisitive brand of storytelling to one of the most dynamic, surprising and culturally rich countries in the world: South Korea. Bill travels from mega-city Seoul to volcanic Jeju Island, tracing Korea’s ancient roots, modern creativity, and its unstoppable global cultural wave. Along the way, he gamely throws himself into K-Pop dance routines, searches for enlightenment with monks, and braves the heat of a bustling street market armed only with curiosity—and a worryingly low spice tolerance. With privileged access, we’ll witness Busan’s famous Fire Festival, dive with Jeju’s Haenyeo Free Diving women, meet Mr Bibim who changed his name due to his love of Bibimbap, the traditional Korean dish, go forest bathing, take part in an online Mukbang session, and observe life inside a coffin.
