Series 2 sees director Charlie Summers well and truly cancelled on Broadway. In despair, and eating far too many lamingtons, he’s vowing never to work in theatre again. That is until mum, Gaye, talks him into directing amateur theatre group Pizazz’s new show. He just can’t help himself.
Charlie’s vision for a Broadway-style version of Sherlock is a dark and moody cine-theatre production, far away from the kind of musical the people of Tauranga are used to. But bestie-turned-enemy Jacqui James is putting on her own musical, Maligned Women Of History, and it’s got all the glitz and glamour that Sherlock lacks.
The shows and the feud escalate, until, at a spectacular TATA (Tauranga Amateur Theatre Awards) event, Charlie and Jacqui finally realise they must work together to save Pizazz itself.
