This new film highlights Jimi Hendrix’s legendary July 4th 1970 performance as the headline act of America’s last great rock festival. More than 500,000 people descended on Byron, Georgia to witness Jimi performing dynamic versions of his signature songs including ‘Star Spangled Banner’, ‘Purple Haze’, ‘Hey Joe’, ‘Foxey Lady’ and ‘Voodoo Child (Slight Return)’ and exciting new songs such as ‘Freedom’ and ‘Straight Ahead’. The film also establishes the significance of the festival which stood as the largest counter culture gathering in middle America and also features interviews with Hendrix himself, members of the Jimi Hendrix Experience, artists such as Leslie West and Gregg Allman who also performed at the festival, Metallica’s Kirk Hammett and many more.
