Now the Palace is embarking on the biggest conservation project ever undertaken, at a cost of £12 million. This 2 year long project will attempt to replace an acre of leaking roof, repair the ornate stone facade and conserve the priceless ceiling paintings beneath, that have endured decades of water damage.
