International distributor DCD Rights announces international sales for some of its most exciting latest music concert offering:

P!nk Live In Melbourne (1×60’/1×90’) has sold to multiple territories including Nine Network in Australia, Musique Plus in Canada, ZDF in Germany, NRJ12 in France, HBO in Eastern Europe, TV2 in Norway and SBS Discovery in Finland. The sold out concert captures PInk in the critically-acclaimed ‘The Truth About Love Tour’ – considered one of the best tours of a generation, with over 140 shows in 13 countries. Filmed in Melbourne the show is hallmarked by captivating theatrics and emotionally fuelled performances of P!nk’s biggest hits from her seven album repertoire.

Emeli Sandé’s concert Live at the Royal Albert Hall (1×60’/1×100’) has been acquired by SVT in Sweden and NRK in Norway. Emeli Sandé became one of Britain’s best music exports after winning multiple Brit and Ivor Novello awards in 2013. The concert has sold around the world including, earlier in 2013, to Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) for North America, Globosat (Brazil), DIRECTV (Latin America), Phoenix Satellite Television (Hong Kong) and YLE (Finland).

Blur – Parklive (1×60’), the kings of Britpop’s concert in Hyde Park in summer 2012, sold to Foxtel in Australia, Globosat in Brazil, Sky Italia and Phoenix Satellite Television (China, HK and Macau). The performance was a companion concert to the closing ceremony of the 2012 Olympics.

DCD Rights also acquired four new landmark concerts and documentaries from top music acts including:

Jimi Hendrix Hear My Train A Comin’ (1×90’ / Experience Hendrix), a new portrait of the American legend, which premiered to critical acclaim on BBC One and PBS this October, featuring never-seen-before footage and personal archive. Directed by Bob Smeaton (‘The Beatles Anthology’), the film traces Hendrix’s roots in Seattle through international stardom and his enduring legacy, featuring interviews with Hendrix; Paul McCartney; legendary producer, Eddie Kramer; friend and ZZ Top guitarist, Billy Gibbons and Steve Winwood, amongst others.

Billy Joel:  A Matter Of Trust—The Bridge To Russia (1×90’ / Maritime Pictures & Jim Brown Productions) – 26 years ago, Billy Joel took his family, his music and his concert show to the former Soviet Union. This feature-length documentary film looks back at the triumphs and difficulties encountered in creating the first fully staged rock n’ roll show in the USSR. Directed by Emmy-winning documentarian, Jim Brown (‘Pete Seeger: The Power Of Song’ and ‘American Roots Music’).

Billy Joel: A Matter Of Trust—The Bridge To Russia—The Concert (1×60’/1×90’ / Maritime Pictures & Jim Brown Productions), the historic 1987 concert event, restored in HD from the original 35mm footage shot over six concerts in Moscow and Leningrad. Re-mastered with 6 previously unreleased songs, the program has not been available since its original VHS release. Billy Joel’s live show connects with the Russian people in the tumultuous era of the Cold War.

Nicky Davies Williams, CEO, DCD Rights, said: “These exciting recent sales and acquisitions further our 30 year track record in selling the world’s biggest music acts from Hendrix, Bowie, McCartney and Bob Marley to Amy Winehouse and Rihanna to broadcasters around the world”.
