18 January 2012

International distributor DCD Rights has acquired worldwide distribution rights to the new Iron Maiden Live concert EN VIVO! Live At Estadio Nacional, Santiago (1×60’/1×90’/HD 5.1) along with the accompanying documentary Iron Maiden: Behind The Beast (1×60’/HD 5.1). The programmes will be launched at NATPE 2012 in Miami next week.

EN VIVO! captures the incredible excitement and atmosphere of a live Iron Maiden show. Filmed in Santiago, Chile on 10th April 2011 during their spectacular ‘The Final Frontier World Tour 2010-11’, Maiden became the first heavy rock band ever to perform at the prestigious Estadio Nacional. Playing to a packed audience of over 50,000 Chilean devotees, the concert was filmed digitally using 22 HD cameras and an octocam (a flying camera which captures aerial crowd scenes), comes in both stereo and 5.1 audio and features songs from the band’s latest studio album ‘The Final Frontier’, which was No 1 in over 28 countries, (including the Grammy winning ‘El Dorado’), alongside classic fan favourites such as ‘The Trooper’, ‘The Number Of The Beast’ and ‘Fear Of The Dark’. With spectacular stage backdrops, dynamic musicianship and a literally jaw-dropping appearance by Eddie, this live show encapsulates to perfection the heart and soul of Iron Maiden 2011.

The Iron Maiden: Behind The Beast documentary describes the extraordinary story of one of the most acclaimed and ambitious touring shows in the world. It follows the life of the characters behind what it takes to bring 98 Live shows in 36 different countries to an audience of over two million people. The expertise and experience, the problem-solving and successes and the sheer scale of the undertaking comes to life through the day to day coverage of the tour and the background work of the crews in sound, lighting, carpentry, wardrobe and set design. Iron Maiden are unique in that they customize their own 757 plane, named Ed Force One, for transport, piloted by lead singer Bruce Dickinson and using their own airline crew and transport team.

Filmed during the ‘Round The World In 66 Days’ leg of The Final Frontier World Tour, as well as interviews with the Iron Maiden crew it interweaves anecdotes from the band and their fans, and includes footage of the live show in this comprehensive guide to the intricacies of staging massive live Stadium shows around the Globe.
