9 October 2013

International distributor DCD Rights announces that it has acquired rights to a 45-hour package of factual series from multi-award winning media company UKTV, comprising new home renovation shows My Dream Derelict Home (15×60’) and Nick Knowles’ Original Features (30×60’) which are launched to buyers at MIPCOM.

My Dream Derelict Home (15×60’/True North Productions) – Hosted by property renovator Simon O’Brien this new home renovation show follows ordinary people facing the challenge of turning wrecks into inspirational homes. Featuring constructions on a similar scale to Grand Designs, the series covers all the key elements viewers love: fantastic properties, hugely ambitious projects and an abundance of inspiration.

Nick Knowles’ Original Features (30×60’/BBC Productions) – A home renovation show with an historical twist, following a property’s transformation back to its former glory. Nick Knowles (DIY SOS, Who Dares Wins), together with archaeologist Dr Cassie Newland, travel through architectural history, lifting the lid on the heritage of period houses and helping restore the original features that make them so unique.

The deal handshake took place on the DCD Rights stand RSV.30 at the Palais des Festivals between UKTV’s Head of Programme Distribution / Strategy, Jonathan Newman and DCD Rights’ Nicky Davies Williams, CEO, Pilar Perez, Head of Acquisitions, and Michael Jackson Sales and Acquisitions.
