Independent UK based distributor DCD Rights continues to secure new deals for popular culinary series Nadiya’s Food Adventure, it announced today, as it prepares to debut a slate of new cookery/travel themed content from Oxyg3n Media and Blue Marlin Television at MIPCOM.

Produced by BBC Studios for BBC Two, Nadiya’s Food Adventure (8 x 30’) has been acquired in two pan territory deals as AMC Networks International – Central and Northern Europe secures rights for Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania and Moldova, and BBC Studios takes rights for the BBC Lifestyle channels in Asia and Africa. In Canada, CBC has acquired the series for its OTT streaming service, which has relaunched as CBC Gem, and a further deal has also been confirmed with Matkanalen in Norway.

Nadiya’s Food Adventure follows Nadiya Hussain on a culinary road trip, as she travels the length and breadth of Britain to seek out all that is great about food across the country. Visiting a different region in each episode, Nadiya meets some of the culinary world’s most exciting food pioneers, before heading into the kitchen to create inspiring and accessible dishes. These new deals add to previous acquisitions by Choice TV (New Zealand) and Foxtel (Australia).

DCD Rights has partnered with Oxyg3n Media to launch a slate of brand new culinary/travel-themed content at MIPCOM. In 10 x 30’ series Brent Owens Unwraps Mauritius, produced for Discovery, the Australian cook and MasterChef champion experiences a little piece of paradise – exploring the island’s food, flavours and culture as well as the exciting adventures hidden around every corner. Also for Discovery, Eat, Grow, Love (20 x 30’) sees Frances Tophill uncovering stories of sustainable gardening in South Africa – offering a series that is part gardening, part sociology, part cooking and a whole lot of sharing. And in Wine, Dine & Stein (13 x 30’, for Home), a feel good series for lovers of travel, food and wine, audiences accompany brothers Jack and Charlie Stein on an adventure around the Western Cape, experiencing striking scenery, stunning wineries and sumptuous cuisine.

Also making its debut at MIPCOM is Ainsley’s Caribbean Adventure (10 x 60’, Blue Marlin Television produced for ITV in association with Goldfinch Studios), following popular TV chef Ainsley Harriot as he embarks on a culinary journey back to his Jamaican roots to explore the culture and cuisine of the breathtaking Caribbean Islands. From windswept cliff-tops to people’s back yards, luxury hotel kitchens to secret mountain retreats – wherever the trail leads to fantastic food, Ainsley finds a way to cook and show off the wonderful landscapes he travels through. DCD Rights has already achieved worldwide success with further Blue Marlin titles including James Martin’s American Adventure and James Martin’s French Adventure.

Rick Barker, Head of Sales at DCD Rights, commented, “Nadiya’s down-to-earth style has proved a huge hit with broadcasters worldwide, ensuring that the series is accessible and inspiring for a wide range of viewers. We’re looking forward to launching another strong slate of culinary titles at MIPCOM – the globally relatable theme of cooking and food offers the perfect backdrop to showcase stunning scenery, real-life stories and fascinating cultures and, combined with the great talent at their helm, we’re confident these new shows will prove very successful in the international market.”
