International broadcasters place new orders for DCD Rights’ cookery programming

Independent UK based distributor DCD Rights has shipped its cookery-themed content to a host of new territories, as A Cook Abroad, Sarah Graham’s Food Safari and Sicily With Aldo & Enzo are picked up by channels in Europe, Latin America and Asia.

New deals for A Cook Abroad, the 6 x 60’ series from BBC Productions which sees our best-loved cooks embarking on a tour of the world’s most inspiring food cultures, include Prima TV (Czech Republic), SIC (Portugal), TV Ontario (Canada), RUV (Iceland), Globosat (Brazil), Bloomberg HT (Turkey) and Kuchina+ (Poland), alongside numerous inflight exhibitions on airlines represented by Spafax and GEE. This follows previous pan regional deals for A Cook Abroad with BBC Worldwide, amongst others.

Following its presale to the Cooking Channel in the US, Sarah Graham’s Food Safari, the 20 x 30’ series from the popular food writer and cook, has now attracted a pan regional acquisition from AMC Networks International (Central Europe). Produced by Okuhle Media for M-Net, the series has also been picked up by Bloomberg HT (Turkey), Foxtel (Australia), HRT (Croatia), Kuchina+ (Poland) and Li TV (Asia).

In addition, the new second season of Sicily With Aldo & Enzo (Red Door TV, 10 x 30’), which sees Sicilian chef Enzo Oliveri introducing Italian mainland chef, Aldo Zilli, to Sicily’s uniquely stunning locations and diverse culinary culture, has been signed by Bloomberg HT (Turkey) and HRT (Croatia).

A Cook Abroad follows ‘Hairy Biker’ Dave Myers, Rick Stein, John Torode, Tony Singh, Monica Galetti and Rachel Khoo as they share their passion for exquisite food and exotic flavours, each travelling to some of the planet’s most fascinating places to track down the origins of the dishes they love and discover how history, geography and culture have shaped what we eat today.

Set against an epic African backdrop of the people and places she loves, Sarah Graham’s Food Safari (20 x 30’ episodes available in total) takes viewers deeper into Sarah’s food story, as she explores some of the continent’s most interesting and exciting food, travelling from Southern Africa’s open savannahs and dramatic terrain to its verdant Garden Route and beautiful cityscapes.

In the entertaining cookery series Sicily With Aldo & Enzo (20 x 30’ now available), Sicilian chef, Enzo Oliveri, takes Italian mainland chef, Aldo Zilli, to a range of uniquely different locations around Sicily and matches the dishes to the location. The secrets of Sicily’s diverse culinary culture are revealed amid some of the most stunning Sicilian locations.
