9 October 2017

The DCD Rights team are delighted to return to MIPCOM with an exciting selection of new programming across drama, entertainment, factual and music.

Our new dramas start with an energetic look at our current polarised society in Romper Stomper, as it follows a new generation of far right activists, their Anti-Fascist counterparts, and the impact on today’s multicultural society. We are submerged into the turmoil of the personal and professional lives of solicitor Tara Rafferty and her team, as we return for a second season of Striking Out. In its third series, comedy Dreamland catches up on the chaotic working lives within the offices of the “Nation Building Authority”.

Top US rated reality show, Mama June: From Not To Hot arrives on the entertainment front, with June debuting her completely unrecognisable look, whereas five new celebrity couples leave their troubled relationships at home in Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars. The much heralded return of Bridezillas features a brand new twist, as the out-of-control brides terrorize their way through the build up to their wedding day.

The true crime genre is led by 3 new series; we follow the real investigations of Canadian detectives in the docudrama series Real Detective: North Of The Border, whilst expert psychoanalysts unpick the dangerous minds of the returning Nurses Who Kill. Deadly Dates reveals the dangers of online dating and the predators who lurk amongst the web and I Shot My Parents revisits the story of two parents, whose son shot them both.

New additions fly into our factual catalogue as we check-in and board the Flights From Hell: Caught On Camera, while the Emergency Helicopter Medics make medical history, delivering the first ‘hospital to the field’ emergency services.

We welcome back historian Lucy Worsley, as she unpacks the curious history of Choral Evensong in Lucy Worsley: Queen Elizabeth’s Battle For Church Music and Darcey Bussell, who investigates why Fred Astaire hated sharing the limelight in Darcey Bussell: Looking For Fred. Stepping away from the spotlight, a myriad of recognised artists are interviewed by photographer and director, Sam Jones, in the latest series of Off Camera, as writer Stephen Smith reveals The Real Dr Zhivago, peeling back the layers of this best seller. Celebrities dig deep into the Treasures Of The British Library, delving into its archives to unlock secrets of some well-loved masterpieces.

From locked archives to hidden treasure, The Art Detectives come back for a second series, tracking down lost and unseen art, in order to restore, resurrect and re-hang, while the Shoreline Detectives investigate more rocky foreshores of the British coastline.

Christopher Timothy and Peter Davidson take us on a nostalgic journey on some of Britain’s most beautiful Vintage Roads in a Morgan 4/4, whilst the ToyMakerz team race over the finish line with the construction of ‘one-off’ vehicles. From crazy creations to remarkable renovations, Charlie Luxton and Sophie Morgan help home improvers solve design dilemmas in Best Laid Plans.

In the open world of science and technology, Hyper Evolution: Rise Of The Robots explores whether robots could become our greatest rivals, whereas, Lotje Sodderland takes us on a pathway of personal discovery into the future of neuroscience in Can You Fix A Brain Like Mine? Documentary maker Richard Macer also goes on an individual journey to investigate if Milton Keynes really is The City Of The Future: 50 Years On and Dr Hannah Fry discovers the mathematics of success in The Joy Of Winning.

With a show from his very own home, we join James Martin as he shares his love of hearty food on Saturday Morning With James Martin. Meanwhile, on a voyage across Britain, we follow Nadiya’s Food Adventure, as she discovers exciting food pioneers and creates some of her own unique and delicious recipes.

We hope you enjoy our largest collection of latest releases to date. Our sales team are on hand to help fulfil your programming requirements.
