Independent UK based distributor DCD Rights has secured a significant multi territory deal with SundanceTV Global for brand new international drama Acceptable Risk ahead of its launch at MIPTV.

The agreement will see Acceptable Risk (6 x 60’) airing on SundanceTV Global later this year across multiple territories including Central and Eastern Europe, Dutch Speaking Benelux, Iberia, Latin America, MENA, Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa.

A high-end, transatlantic co-production, the brand new six-part drama Acceptable Risk stars Elaine Cassidy (No Offence) in an edge-of-the-seat thriller which follows Sarah Manning (Cassidy) as she comes to realise how little she knew about her husband, Lee, before he was murdered. Her growing suspicions around his death lead Sarah to confront a powerful conspiracy of corporate, police and political interests, extending from Dublin to Montreal, in which her own family may be complicit.

An Ireland-Canada co-production by Saffron Moon and Facet4 Media in association with Acorn Media Enterprises for RTÉ, and due to launch on RTÉ later this year, Acceptable Risk is written by Irish Emmy Award winner Ron Hutchinson and financed with support from the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland. Acceptable Risk also stars Angeline Ball (Redwater, Shameless), Morten Suurballe (Vikings, The Killing), Lisa Dwyer Hogg (The Fall) and Geordie Johnson (Murdoch Mysteries).

Nicky Davies Williams, CEO at DCD Rights, commented, “With exceptional production values and an international cast, Acceptable Risk offers intelligent and gripping contemporary drama with stand-out storylines and performances. I’m delighted audiences across the world will have the opportunity to view this thrilling series on SundanceTV Global.”
