DCD Rights launches ‘Bridezillas’ and ‘Marriage Boot Camp: Bridezillas’ with pre sales

29 August 2013

International distributor DCD Rights has sealed deals for the 10th Anniversary Season of the iconic wedding series Bridezillas (23 x 60’) with VMMA (Belgium) and for brand new spin off series Marriage Boot Camp: Bridezillas (10 x 60’) with Foxtel (Australia).

Both shows aired this summer on American cable network WE tv and Marriage Bootcamp: Bridezillas has been recommissioned for a second season at the back of ratings success.

Bridezillas (23 x 60’): The 10th Anniversary Season is the biggest yet with more lavish weddings than ever before. Every bride dreams of her wedding day — but bridezillas are willing to do whatever it takes to get it. The season features more smashed cakes, bridal party wars, irate in-laws and above all, lots of ‘zilla’ freak outs by anxious brides. From throwing tantrums to making threats against family and friends, Bridezillas proves that being beautiful on the outside doesn’t necessarily make you pretty on the inside.

Ten years after introducing “Bridezillas” into the lexicon of pop culture, the iconic long standing series is now accompanied by a new spin-off, Marriage Boot Camp: Bridezillas (10 x 60’), which follows five bridezillas trying to save their marriages – all while living under one roof. Couples whose marriages are on a path to destruction undergo a two-week extreme marriage boot camp run by husband and wife counseling team, Jim and Elizabeth Carroll, and rounded out by counselors Dana Hamman and David Bishop. During this intensive program, the counselors go head to head with the bridezillas and their mates, putting them through a progressive series of strategic exercises and drills designed to get at the root of what’s destroying their marriages.

The series has enjoyed strong ratings this summer on WE tv consistently ranking #1 on Bluefin for new episodes in primetime reality cable on Friday nights and ranked in the top 10 on Trendrr throughout the season, while Bridezillas made a big return growing nearly +50% among Women 25-54 over Season 9 Premiere on its first Season 10 episode.

Bridezillas now totalling 198 hours distributed by DCD Rights is produced by DCD Media-owned September Films. Marriage Boot Camp: Bridezillas is produced by Thinkfactory Media, in association with September Films.

Nicky Davies Williams, CEO, DCD Rights, said: “We look forward to launching this exciting new series at MIPCOM alongside the 10th Anniversary Season of our hit selling series Bridezillas, which the company will celebrate in style during the market”.
