Leading UK-based distributor DCD Rights today announced a slate of new concerts and feature length documentaries.

A remastered version of David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders from Mars: The Motion Picture – a 100-minute version produced by the Jones/Tintoretto Entertainment Company has been sold to NHK Japan.

This new 4K restoration of Ziggy Stardust & The Spiders From Mars: The Motion Picture; David Bowie’s iconic 1973 concert at the Hammersmith Odeon, was filmed by award-winning director DA Pennebaker, during which Bowie made the shocking announcement that he would be retiring his extra-terrestrial rockstar persona, Ziggy Stardust. With an audio mix undertaken by legendary award-winning producer Tony Visconti, this new version includes an extended running time that features the full uncut performance and restored songs including a seldom-seen guest appearance by guitar legend Jeff Beck.

Launching at Miptv, Electric Lady Studios: A Jimi Hendrix Vision is a 1 x 90’ special produced by Experience Hendrix which has already been pre-sold to Sky in the UK and will air on Sky Arts later this year.

This immersive film details the creation of Electric Lady Studios, rising from a bankrupt Greenwich Village nightclub to the state of the art recording facility inspired by Jimi Hendrix’s vision. The documentary features exclusive interviews, never-before-seen Hendrix footage and photos as well as track breakdowns of Hendrix classics such as ‘Freedom’, ‘Angel’ and ‘Dolly Dagger’ by legendary producer Eddie Kramer

Additionally, DCD has made an early pre-sale to PBS in the USA for Chicago & Friends: Live At 55 which celebrates their spectacular music legacy.   Produced by Rock Fuel Media, the 1 x 60’ programme sees the multi-platinum album-selling group Chicago perform with a fabulous line-up of guest artists, featuring classic tracks from their seminal debut album alongside a selection of greatest hits and deep cuts.

Also launching at MIPTV is Christmas At Graceland, a 1 x 60’ special produced by Done+Dusted & Authentic Studios for NBC and Peacock.  A television special, filmed live, celebrates Christmas at Elvis Presley’s famed family home, Graceland. Many of music’s biggest stars perform Elvis and Christmas songs in locations throughout the home and grounds. This special also includes never-before-broadcast home movie footage of Elvis and his family. In addition, some iconic friends of Elvis share their memories of him, his music and Christmases at Graceland… the King of Rock & Roll’s favourite time of year.

Christmas At Graceland features a special appearance by Elvis’ granddaughter, Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Riley Keough (Daisy Jones And The Six) and magical performances by Lainey Wilson, Lana Del Rey, Kane Brown, Alanis Morissette, Post Malone, The War And Treaty, John Legend and Kacey Musgraves.

James Anderson, Sales Manager at DCD Rights says, “Music programming from legendary artists continues to have strong global appeal and none more so than the acclaimed David Bowie, megastar Jimi Hendrix, hugely popular band Chicago and Elvis Presley’s Christmas themed torch songs performed by contemporary stars direct from his beloved home Graceland.  We are thrilled to have this opportunity to present these spectacularly produced concerts to our clients for international audiences to savour.”
