1 October 2026
Leading UK-based distributor DCD Rights heads to Mipcom with an extensive slate of brand-new unscripted titles to launch alongside its latest scripted series.
Celebrity led factual series include Bill Bailey’s Korea Adventure (6 x 60’), from Perpetual Entertainment & Glassbox Productions for Channel 4, which follows comedian Bill Bailey taking his uniquely inquisitive brand of storytelling to one of the most dynamic, surprising and culturally rich countries in the world: South Korea. Bill travels from mega-city Seoul to volcanic Jeju Island, tracing Korea’s ancient roots, modern creativity, and its unstoppable global cultural wave. He throws himself into K-Pop dance routines, searches for enlightenment with monks, witnesses Busan’s famous Fire Festival, dives with Jeju’s Haenyeo Free Diving women, meets Mr Bibim who changed his name due to his love of Bibimbap, takes part in an online Mukbang session and observes life inside a coffin.
While James Martin’s Quick ‘N’ Easy (10 x 30’), produced by Blue Marlin Television for ITV, is all about taking the pressure out of cooking without taking away the pleasure. Food has an extraordinary way of bringing people together. It starts conversations, creates traditions and turns ordinary evenings into memories you’ll still be talking about years later. This series is about cooking with confidence, having a bit of fun and putting great food on the table without making life harder than it needs to be.
Another new culinary launch from Blue Marlin Television is James Martin’s Italian Adventure (6 x 30’), where James explores Europe, this time in Italy, a country rich in culinary history and culture. He finds inspiration in the fine dining, rustic eateries, fresh ingredients and traditional recipes of Italy and cooks up his own take on local dishes in stunning locations. This is a celebration of Italy’s top-quality produce and showcases the best that Italy has to offer.
New true crime titles include The Truth About My Murder (6 x 60’) from Yeti for BBC Wales/BBC iPlayer. Home-office forensic pathologist, Dr Richard Shepherd, brings his expertise to fascinating murder cases in Wales, with insight from police and the victims’ own family members. Using a state-of-the-art digital autopsy table, he explores the truth behind these murders, as we are able to go inside virtual bodies to explore the effects of trauma, expose lies told by the killer and understand how this evidence is often crucial in cracking the case. Separating fact from fiction, the series puts these gripping and moving cases under a new lens and gives voices back to the victims to tell their truth of what happened.
Murder by the Sea: Series 3 – 10 (76 x 60’) is produced by Monster Films for CBS Reality/True Crime. The British coastline is a place where the land meets the sea and life meets death: becoming the setting to some of the most chilling murders in history. Putting paid to the notion that coastal towns are places of jollity and holiday fun, the series explores some of the most extraordinary murder cases as told from the perspective of those who investigated the crimes and brought the killers to justice. Hosted by renowned crime historian Dr Nell Darby and author Geoffrey Wansell, these are the untold stories of Britain’s not-so-sunny seaside towns.
Brand new history series are represented in DCD Rights Mipcom line-up by Saving Blenheim Palace (3 x 60’) – Blenheim Palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. After 300 years of being exposed to the elements, this masterpiece of Baroque architecture is under threat and in desperate need of repair. The Palace is embarking on the biggest conservation project ever undertaken, costing £12 million. This 2-year project will attempt to replace an acre of leaking roof, repair the ornate stone facade and conserve the priceless ceiling paintings that have endured decades of water damage. We follow a dedicated team of architects, heritage specialists, stone carvers, craftspeople and art conservators, as they battle to save the Palace. Produced by Dash Pictures for Channel 4.
In addition, Country House Auction (4 x 60’) follows some of the finest and most extraordinary antiques as they are repaired, valued, and bid for at the Country House Auction. Set in the heart of Ireland, and curated by world-renowned auctioneers, Sheppards, it’s not just the antique treasures that take centre stage. Castle owners Tessa and Robin open their doors to host the auction at their 300-year-old home, Castle Durrow. No stone is left unturned as heart-warming stories are told and secret histories revealed. In the auction room tensions rise and nail-biting bidding unfolds as buyers, sellers, historical home-owners, and self-proclaimed auction addicts congregate at the Castle for the Country House Auction. Produced by Big Mountain Productions for Channel 4.
Plus a new season of popular The Travelling Auctioneers Series 6 (25 x 60’), an STV Studios production for BBC One, enjoys auctioneers Izzie Balmer, James Broad and Briony Harford team up with restorers JJ Chalmers, Robin Johnson, Saf Fakir and Lauren Wood as they take their mobile auction house and workshop on tour, helping families turn their forgotten treasures into cash to spend on a good cause close to their hearts.
Two factual documentaries from Wildbear Entertainment are The Geography Of War: World War II (4 x 60’) examining the key campaigns of the Second World War through the prism of geography. For millennia, the same rivers, mountain ranges, deserts and oceans have presented armies with geographical challenges, and the Second World War was no different. Using expert interviews, colourised archival footage and dynamic animated maps, the series reveals the fascinating and often decisive links between Geography and War. Raised In The Wild (6 x 60’) follows animal families in the struggle for survival. Across the natural world, parents face their hardest challenge: guiding their offspring. Some live as devoted families; others face the world alone. Not all will survive. Edited in a classic blue-chip style, each episode weaves parallel stories through a behaviour-driven narrative.
